Radical Self Care: Moving from Surviving to Thriving


Many of us fall into the pattern of taking care of everyone else first.  Life can become a never ending ToDo list where our own needs fall to the bottom. This program is designed to help you get back in touch with your body and what YOU need for optimal health.  

We’ll use mindfulness techniques to increase body awareness and help you get in touch with cues such as hunger, satiety, stress, emotion and fatigue. We will work on accepting where you are right now while tapping into your strengths to help you get where you want to be.   You will gain insight into what might be holding you back from achieving your health goals.  You will also learn tools to get at the roots of your behavior and strategies to help you follow your intuition toward more nourishing health habits.


Core Learning Areas
Each week we will focus on listening to our internal cues, aligning with our strengths and honoring our bodies for optimal health. The following areas are core to the learning experience:

  • Mindful Eating: And the 5 senses 
  • Listening to our Bodies: Understanding hunger
  • Behaviour Change: Using our strengths for success
  • Rituals for Health: What is serving you? What is not?
  • The Hidden Gift of Failure and cutting yourself some slack
  • Keeping Health on your Radar: The power of intention


Desired Outcomes

Moving from a survival mindset to daily thriving.  Your past struggles will begin to fade as you refocus on the new habits you are drawn to.  You will no longer have to create goals for yourself that are based on willpower.   Instead you will be able to set yourself up for success by grounding your new habits in your signature strengths.  


Heidi Smith, Registered Dietician, is one of the Co-Founders of Vitality At Work.  She will be the lead facilitator for this program.  Each session will take place in our online classroom using a small group format of 4 - 6 participants to ensure a great rapport and rich discussion.  Requirements to login: A computer with a video camera and phone or a smartphone using the Adobe Connect free App. 

​*NB: we do ask that you commit to attending all 6 sessions to ensure group cohesiveness and continuity.

Sessions and Fees

Six Week Format

The program will run Thursday's beginning November 1st, 2018 until December 13th, 2018 from 12:00-1:15pm. (No session November 15th)


The fee is $295* + HST

Early Registration discount (before October 4th, 2018) $250 + HST
