Connecting people to evidence based tools based in the “science of happiness” to cultivate, grown and build one’s baseline for “happiness” is part of the creativity I bring to my work. I believe that when people experience severe life stressors it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel and to become stuck in the pain or loop of despair. I have been working with clients to support them in their journey dealing with depression, anxiety, grief, suicidal thoughts, life transitions, and everyday struggles for over 15 years.
I have experience working with a range of individuals, including business owners, college students, seniors, adults facing life/work balance issues, as well as families dealing with disabilities. I received my Masters of Social Work from Syracuse University in 1998 & my PhD from SUNY at Albany in 2001. I have been trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities including Solution Focused, Problem Solving Therapy and approaches from the “Science of Happiness” that include enhancing mindfulness, character strengths (www.viacharacter.org), and gratitude.
As a Registered Dietitian my vision is to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools to nurture their bodies for the long run. Every body is different and an important first step is learning how to listen and respond to our physical cues, hunger pangs and cravings. My hope is to inspire individuals to set up healthy rituals that are nourishing, energizing and practical within our busy lifestyles. My training also includes certification as a SoulCollage® Facilitator.
Jen is passionate about supporting learning and positive change in organizations and systems. Bringing 25 years of experience as an educator and process designer. Jen has a Ph.D. in Sustainability Education and a Master's degree in Ecology-Based Education from Prescott College, and she has a Bachelor of Education degree with a focus in Outdoor and Experiential Education and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Queen's University. Her research sits at the confluence of a number of different areas of study and praxis including sustainability education, resilience and complexity theory, multi-stakeholder whole-system change processes, dialogue theory and practice, mindfulness, and transformative learning theory.

I founded The Kirwin Group in 2004 and in my role as mentor, coach and facilitator have focused on building thriving workplaces. I developed the Vitality at Work brand with a single focus of supporting individuals and entrepreneurial organizations to realize their full potential through the application of positive psychology.
I have completed a Masters in Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier specializing in Leadership and Organizational Behaviour. I achieved my Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology (CAPP) from the Wholebeing Institute, where I studied under Dr. Tal Ben Shahar from Harvard University and went on to complete a MSc in Applied Positive Psychology at the University of East London.
